Monday Feb. 22 in NYC: Palestine, Israel, and the US Empire

The time has come for us to awaken to the truth. Though the media oversimplifies and paints the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as one of religion and race, the underlying root of the problem lies in the millions of refugees who live under a brutal occupation which has been likened to apartheid. Even more disturbing is the fact that our government has played a direct role in the displacement, subjugation, and continued oppression of an entire people through both financial and military aid.

Richard Becker, an activist and writer, provides powerful insight into the history and complexities of US-Israeli relations. Striving to clarify the Palestinian issue which has been mystified by the media, Becker allows us to reexamine the conflict with historical facts as he explains that Zionism, a colonial and expansionist ideology, is supported by US interests in the region. In his recently published book, ‘Palestine, Israel, and the US Empire,’ he provides a sharp analysis of the conflict firmly rooted in the politics of Palestinian liberation. His work is a necessary contribution to the heroic efforts of the Palestinian people to achieve justice in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Join us for both a presentation and discussion.
